Compassionate Communities in Palliative and End of Life Care Conference

Introduction

AIIHPC, in collaboration with member organisations, Foyle Hospice and Irish Hospice Foundation is hosting this community-centred conference for community groups, civic society organisations, people with life-limiting conditions, family carers and interested citizens on the island of Ireland.
The event will aim to promote a compassionate response from communities to support people with palliative care needs including at the end of life and bereavement for families and friends. The conference will raise awareness about the challenges people face when dealing with dying, death, and loss in our communities, highlight successful community responses and initiatives, and discuss constructive solutions to build more equitable compassionate communities.

Opening Address

The event will be opened by Micheál Martin T.D., Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs.

This event is open to the public and those involved in community groups and civic society organisations. The conference will be of particular interest to those who are interested in becoming involved or establishing supports within their own communities for palliative, end of life and bereavement care across the island of Ireland.
